THE CAUSE: Each year, thousands of children in Toronto do not have a single present to open on Christmas Day. Through donations raised at this event, you can bring happiness and hope to a disadvantaged child who might otherwise be overlooked this Christmas. We, the men and women of Toronto’s Emergency Services, experience first-hand and on a daily basis, just how vulnerable and fragile our children really are – and can see better than most just how desperately they need our help. This annual Charity Event is our collective way to bring a little happiness and hope into these kids’ lives. |
Our History: On Sunday September 7th, the Toronto Chapter of the Blue Knight’s International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is, for the 30th year in a row, holding it’s annual charity toy ride in support of the Salvation Army’s Christmas toy drive for disadvantaged children in Toronto. Our Toy Ride is the oldest, continually held annual charity event of it’s kind in Canada. Each year, we collect hundreds of toys and raise thousands of dollars for disadvantaged children of Toronto who, without our help, might otherwise be overlooked at Christmas. This year, we are also asking for food donations to help out those in need. For the first time in our 30-year involvement with this charity event, we are extending our reach and inviting the general non-riding public to participate in this truly unique experience which brings together Toronto’s Emergency Services teams for fun, for entertainment and, most importantly, to raise funds for the kids. Please join us at Nathan Phillips Square on Sunday September 7th, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. |
